Adele's House

Beverly Hills, CA

The Story

Adele is the London singer behind “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You,” and “Hello.” She was 27, 3 albums in and touring 25, when she bought her first house in Los Angeles here in 2016.

Built in 1977, with a county effective year of 1991 after a remodel. The roll puts it inside the City of Los Angeles, on a lot still described by survey bearings off Section 36, not a tract number.

Before the guard gate, this valley west of Coldwater Canyon was actress Myrna Loy’s estate. The Huntington Library holds a Brookwell Photo negative of her house here, bare hills behind it and a tennis court in front.

Adele bought it from Don Mischer, the director who ran the 1996 Atlanta Olympic opening ceremony, 15 Emmy telecasts, and the Motown 25 special where Michael Jackson first moonwalked. He died in April 2025 at 85.

Nobody noticed for weeks. The deed closed in early April 2016 under the name The Gatefield Trust, and by the time Realtor.com wrote it up on June 2 she was still on the road and had not moved in.

When Vogue filmed its “73 Questions” with her in 2021, ahead of the album 30, the pool and summerhouse on camera were this backyard.

She kept buying in the enclave: a second house in 2019 and a third in 2021 from Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. The Sylvester Stallone estate she bought in 2022 is in Beverly Park, a separate gated community.
