Beverly Hills Celebrity Homes Map: Who Lives Where

The mistake most visitors make with a Beverly Hills celebrity map is trusting the ZIP code. Nine of the 15 Los Angeles-area homes on this page carry a Beverly Hills mailing address and sit inside the City of Los Angeles, on hillside lots the county assessor files under Los Angeles zoning, with Los Angeles police and fire. The other six are inside Beverly Hills proper, a city of 5.71 square miles with Los Angeles wrapped around every side of it. Where that line runs decides which canyon road you drive, which gate you meet, and whether the house has a view at all.

This page is the orientation layer. First the geography: which side of Sunset Boulevard, the flats against the hills, Trousdale Estates, and the canyons the post office calls Beverly Hills. Then the 18 homes, area by area, with Elton John's five addresses gathered in one place because Beverly Hills holds two of them.

Where the city line runs

Beverly Hills was a lima bean field until 1900, when Burton Green's oil company drilled for crude, struck water instead, and by 1906 had renamed the tract after Beverly Farms, Massachusetts. Landscape architect Wilbur Cook drew the street plan in 1907 with curving streets, larger lots on the north side, smaller lots on the south, and a triangular business district between them. The city incorporated in 1914, and in 1923 its voters turned down annexation by Los Angeles, 507 to 337, with Mary Pickford leading the opposition.

The border they drew is the one that still confuses people. The Los Angeles Times put it plainly in 2004: when the city incorporated, its northern edge ran about a mile north of Sunset Boulevard, and everything from there up to Mulholland Drive stayed inside the City of Los Angeles, where it sat without a name for decades. In the 1920s the federal government had the Beverly Hills post office deliver mail to those hills, then mostly Doheny Ranch, and when ZIP codes arrived in 1963 the whole area landed inside 90210 along with the northern half of the city. A 1989 Times survey of the area drew it from a few blocks north of Sunset to Mulholland and from Coldwater Canyon to Benedict Canyon Drive, with the post office making 3,000 residential deliveries there against 17,000 inside the city. Realtors call it the Beverly Hills Post Office, or BHPO.

None of that changes who answers a 911 call. BHPO residents get Los Angeles police, fire, and schools, and vote in Los Angeles elections.

Here is how we sort a home without guessing. Every parcel in Los Angeles County carries a zoning code on the assessor's roll, and it names the city. BHR1 means a single-family lot inside Beverly Hills. LARE15, LARE20, and LARE40 mean a City of Los Angeles residential estate lot, and the number is the smallest lot the zone allows, in thousands: LARE15 works out to about a third of an acre, LARE40 to about nine tenths of one, which is why the biggest hillside parcels on this page all carry it. We pulled that code for every home here, or for its street where the parcel would not surface, and the sort below comes from the roll, not from the mailing label.

The flats, south of Sunset

The flats are the part of Beverly Hills most people picture: the wide streets between Sunset and Santa Monica boulevards, laid out on Cook's 1907 plan, where the lots are big but the ground is level and the house is visible from the sidewalk. Simon Cowell's house was the classic example. The county assessor dates it to 1985 with a 2006 effective year, its marker for a major remodel, on one of the original Beverly Hills tract lots plus a strip bought from the lot next door. Cowell bought in 2004, had London designers March & White turn a bachelor pad into a family home in 2015, and sold off market in August 2020, days after breaking his back in an electric bike crash near his Malibu house. The buyer resold it in 2023 for $33.6M, one of the priciest deals ever closed south of Sunset. Simon Cowell's former house has the parcel record and the resale.

North of Sunset, inside the city

The mile of hillside the city kept in 1914 holds its oldest estates. Samuel Goldwyn had one built in 1934 on a cul-de-sac in the foothills behind the Beverly Hills Hotel, to a Georgian design by Douglas Honnold, and the city's 1985 historic survey could not see it from the street and worked from published photographs. Taylor Swift bought it in September 2015, eight months after Samuel Goldwyn Jr. died and the house left the family for the first time, and in April 2017 Beverly Hills landmarked it unanimously after her architect walked the council through the roof and gutter work. The county carries it at about 1.9 acres. It is Taylor Swift's Beverly Hills house on our map.

Ryan Seacrest's former compound is three parcels, nearly three acres in all. Buff & Hensman designed the single-story main house for actor Laurence Harvey in 1963, Joan Collins lived there in her Dynasty years, and Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi owned it from 2007 to 2012 and married on the grounds. Seacrest bought it from them in May 2012 and sold on November 7, 2022. All three parcels are on Ryan Seacrest's former house, and one of them carries no structure on the roll at all. That is where DeGeneres put a pond.

Sofia Vergara's former house sits toward Benedict Canyon but inside the city line, on a lot Beverly Hills zones for a single family, built in 2006. She bought it in 2014, the year before she married Joe Manganiello, and the basement became the room he named the Gary Gygax Memorial Dungeon, where Tom Morello and Vince Vaughn played Dungeons & Dragons for six or eight hours at a stretch. The house went on the market in 2022, the divorce came in 2023, and unnamed buyers closed on April 23, 2024. Sofia Vergara's Beverly Hills house holds the ownership chain and the 2024 sale.

Trousdale Estates, the top of the city

Trousdale is the one part of the hills that Beverly Hills added later. Paul Trousdale bought about 410 acres of the old Doheny Ranch from Lucy Doheny Battson in 1954, persuaded the city council to annex it, and cut it into 532 lots, with a design board under architect Allen Siple that held every house to a single story so nobody's view was blocked.

Elton John and David Furnish bought a 1966 house there in 2012 and had Martyn Lawrence Bullard lacquer the walls white as a backdrop for Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, and Philip Taaffe. In September 2021 they bought the 1968 house next door in an off-market deal with neighbors who had held it for decades, which took the grounds from about half an acre to nearly a full one. His other three addresses are not in California, and they belong on this page because people ask. In Atlanta he bought a duplex high up in Park Place on Peachtree in 1992, newly sober and drawn to the city's recovery community, added five neighboring units over the decades, and sold the lot in November 2023, weeks after his farewell tour ended; Christie's auctioned more than 900 pieces from it the following February. Elton John's Atlanta condo tells that story. In London he has kept a house on the Norland estate in Holland Park since 1992, a street of modest stock brick inside a conservation area since 1969, and the Land Registry's open sales file shows no sale on that house since the records began in 1995. That is Elton John's London house. And above Nice, on the Mont Boron slopes that nobody built on until 1856, sits the 1920s villa he calls "the summer house," where Nice made him an honorary citizen in 1997 and where Prince Harry and Meghan brought a three-month-old Archie in August 2019. Beverly Hills by post office only

Everything from here on is inside the City of Los Angeles. The 1989 Times piece quoted a Beverly Hills broker on why the stars kept moving up the hill: there is more seclusion in the canyons than in the flats, where the tour buses go. He recalled an 11:30 p.m. phone call from Joanne Woodward, who wanted to sell her Beverly Hills house because a stranger had knocked on the door asking for Paul Newman's autograph, and he sold the couple a house on a quiet Post Office street instead.

One private road off Coldwater Canyon

Three of these homes share a single road, a private gated easement that began as a bridle path for Beverly Hills Hotel guests and stayed one until the 1940s. Its owners pave and light it themselves, and the county files its lots as Los Angeles estate land, not Beverly Hills.

Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd bought a 2006 contemporary there in September 2011, designed by Abramson Teiger for an interior designer's own use, and named it Villa Rosa. Vanderpump softened it, turning the forecourt into a fountain with a wooden bridge, and swans named Hanky and Panky live in the pond while miniature horses graze the hillside. The Beverly Park chateau they left behind caught fire during a 2012 remodel and became that community's first teardown. Lisa Vanderpump's Villa Rosa is the profile.

Jessica Alba's former house is next door, a 2005 build on 1.78 acres that she bought in January 2017 from producer Mike Medavoy. She and Cash Warren spent 18 months on it with Kathleen and Tommy Clements, designers Ellen DeGeneres introduced them to, and the finished house was the June 2019 cover of Architectural Digest. Asked on Bravo whether she saw Vanderpump's animals, Alba said she heard them. The couple separated in December 2024 and the house closed on June 27, 2025, and the county reset its taxable value on the sale, as California does with every change of hands. Calvin Harris's compound is the newest on the road, every structure dated 2014 on the roll. It went up as a spec house in an East Coast style, five white clapboard buildings with verandas, and Harris bought it through a trust in August 2014 and turned the two-story guest house into two recording studios. The parcel itself is a 2016 creation: on January 14 of that year the assessor retired the original half-acre lot and folded in part of a neighboring one, so the parcel Harris owns today did not exist on paper when the houses went up. Harris put it on the market in 2022 to move to a 138-acre farm on Ibiza, and the roll logged a change of ownership in 2026 that no sale report has yet explained. A few streets over, on a cul-de-sac above Coldwater, is the 1966 house that Rihanna bought in 2009 and left as a short sale in 2011 after rain came into the house and mold spread onto her clothes. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend bought it in January 2016, rebuilt the kitchen as the set for her Cravings videos, and sold in July 2021 after moving to a bigger house in Benedict Canyon. The chain from Rihanna to the 2021 buyer is on Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's former house. On Ellen, Teigen admitted she had opened Rihanna's leftover mail.

The guard-gated valley below Mulholland

Three more homes sit in one guard-gated enclave on the west side of upper Coldwater Canyon, below Mulholland Drive. A Huntington Library aerial photograph places actress Myrna Loy's house in this valley in the years before the gate, a tennis court and bare hills around it, and the county still describes two of these three lots the way a 19th-century surveyor would, by compass bearings from a section corner, because the ground was mapped before anyone subdivided it.

Katy Perry bought her house here off market in April 2017 from Cody Leibel, heir to a Canadian homebuilding fortune, who had owned it since 2007. The roll dates the house to 1959, with a 2001 effective year, on a City of Los Angeles lot. When American Idol went remote in spring 2020 she judged from the living room, once dressed as a life-size bottle of hand sanitizer, and she sold in August 2022. Katy Perry's former house carries the parcel and both sales.

Jennifer Lawrence's house went up in 1991 inside the same 33-home enclave, and the county's written description of its lot begins at a corner of land deeded to Peter Fonda in June 1962. Before Jessica Simpson owned it the house had passed through Ellen DeGeneres, Paul Hogan, and Viacom's Tom Freston, and Lawrence bought it in October 2014 through a trust named for her father. She sold off market in September 2025 to a company tied to Cara and Poppy Delevingne, and by April 2026 it was back on the market. Jennifer Lawrence's former house has the deed chain back to Fonda.

Adele's house is the 1977 one, remodeled in 1991 by the roll's count, that she bought in April 2016 from Don Mischer, the director who ran the 1996 Atlanta Olympic opening ceremony and the Motown 25 special where Michael Jackson first moonwalked. The deed closed under the name The Gatefield Trust and nobody noticed for weeks. She has since bought two more houses in the same enclave, and the Sylvester Stallone estate she bought in 2022 is in Beverly Park, a separate gated community. Adele's house is where to start.

Beverly Crest

East of Coldwater Canyon, the hillside opened as Beverly Crest in 1923, when developer George Read graded the streets, buried the utilities, and sold view lots from $3,500; a 1928 advertisement called it "the balcony" of Beverly Hills. Two of this page's homes are on that hillside.

Sandra Bullock's is the 1940 Tudor-style house owned before her by Marlo Thomas, David Geffen, and Hard Rock Cafe co-founder Peter Morton. Those prior owners are all on Sandra Bullock's house. She bought it in June 2011, between her Oscar for The Blind Side and Gravity.

Dr. Phil McGraw's is the house he and his wife Robin bought in the summer of 2010, a place they had admired for years, which CBS MoneyWatch called an Alamo replica when the purchase surfaced: three acres, a detached guesthouse, and a lighted tennis court. The county files that street's lots as Los Angeles land. Their former Beverly Hills villa a few blocks away, sold in 2011, came back in June 2026 as a $65,000-a-month rental. Beverly Park, the guard-gated development finished in 1990 between Mulholland and Sunset, is also Los Angeles city land with a Beverly Hills address. None of these 18 homes is inside it, but three of their owners have had one there: Vanderpump's former chateau, the Beverly Park house Vergara and Manganiello moved up the hill to, and the Stallone estate Adele bought.
