Chrissy Teigen & John Legend's House (former)

Chrissy Teigen went from Sports Illustrated swimsuit model to the Cravings cookbooks, and this kitchen was her set. John Legend, her husband since 2013, is the “All of Me” singer who completed his EGOT in 2018.

The house went up in 1966 on Lot 11 of Tract 17931, a cul-de-sac in the hills above Coldwater Canyon. The mail says Beverly Hills, but the county files the parcel as Los Angeles, zoned RE15.

Rihanna bought it in 2009 and sued in 2011 after rain came in through the house and mold spread onto her clothes. It went as a short sale that December.

The buyer who took it off Rihanna renovated and relisted it within a year, in October 2012, at nearly double the price. The sales pitch called it “tailor-made for an A-List celebrity.”

Legend and Teigen bought it from an investment group in January 2016 and rebuilt the kitchen for her cooking videos. Designer Don Stewart hung a hand-carved Thai ceiling over the 33-foot living room.

On Ellen in 2016, Teigen said she never thought she would be “cool enough to have a Rihanna pad,” then admitted she opened the singer’s leftover mail. One item was a $12 bill.

They listed in August 2020, cut the price the next spring, and closed in July 2021 with Canadian doctors Sheldon and Meryl Elman as buyers. The family had already moved to a bigger house in Benedict Canyon.
