Dr. Phil McGraw's House

Beverly Hills, CA

The Story

Phil McGraw is the Texas-raised clinical psychologist Oprah Winfrey put on daytime TV, host of the talk show that carried his name for 21 seasons from September 2002 to 2023. He stopped renewing his psychology license in 2006.

The street sits in Beverly Hills Post Office, a stretch of Los Angeles hillside with a Beverly Hills mailing address since the 1920s and the 90210 ZIP since 1963. The city line stops about a mile north of Sunset.

The county parcel layer files the Davies Drive lots as City of Los Angeles land under LARE40 hillside zoning, most of them cut from Tract 6774. Neighboring houses date from 1949 to 2004.

The McGraws bought this hillside view house in the summer of 2010, a place they had admired for years. That July they listed the villa a few blocks away at $16.5M, where they had lived since 2002.

CBS MoneyWatch called the new place an Alamo replica when the purchase surfaced: 3 acres, a detached guesthouse, a lighted tennis court, and a pool. McGraw grew up around the North Texas oilfields.

The villa they left behind, built in 2001, sold in 2011 for $12M and came back in June 2026 as a $65,000-a-month rental. Robb Report noted the McGraws still owned their other Beverly Hills home.

In 2020 the couple paid $10M cash for a Trousdale Estates house for their son Jordan, a spec build by Woodbridge Group, whose developer was later imprisoned for running a $1.2B Ponzi scheme.
