Elton John's House

Elton John is the singer and pianist behind “Your Song,” “Rocket Man,” and “Candle in the Wind,” with more than 50 years of hits since 1970. For 3 decades this Buckhead tower was his American base.

Park Place on Peachtree went up in 1986 as a 40-story tower of 294 condominium units, developed and managed by the Brickstone Companies. Coretta Scott King also lived in the building.

The tower got its first major renovation in 37 years starting in 2024, a $15M job that rebuilt the Peachtree Road porte cochere, enlarged the pool, and refreshed the residential floors. Work wrapped in February 2025.

Elton bought a duplex on the 36th floor in 1992, newly sober and drawn to Atlanta’s recovery community, he told the Wall Street Journal. Over the following decades he added 5 neighboring units to house his photography collection.

Architectural Digest ran the apartment in its January 1993 issue. Atlanta designers Stan Topol and Fred Dilger had merged 2 units into one, with silver leaf on nearly every surface, Lalique chandeliers, and Mapplethorpe photographs beside his bed.

The condo listed in September 2023, weeks after his farewell tour ended, and sold that November to a local cash buyer for well over the asking price. Fulton County now taxes the 6 combined units as a single parcel.

In February 2024 Christie’s in New York auctioned more than 900 pieces from the apartment, including his Yamaha grand piano and the table where he first sketched out his AIDS foundation.
