Sandra Bullock's House

Sandra Bullock has carried movies since Speed in 1994 and won the Best Actress Oscar for The Blind Side in March 2010. She bought this house the following year, between that win and Gravity.

The county assessor dates the main house to 1940 and files the land as lot 26 of Tract 6774. The ZIP says Beverly Hills, but the parcel sits inside the City of Los Angeles on an estate-zoned lot.

This side of Coldwater Canyon opened as Beverly Crest in 1923, when developer George Read graded streets, buried utilities, and sold view lots from $3,500. A 1928 ad called the tract “the balcony” of Beverly Hills.

Marlo Thomas, David Geffen, and Hard Rock Cafe co-founder Peter Morton all owned the Tudor-style house before Bullock. Her purchase closed in June 2011, after her split from Jesse James.

The seller had bought the estate from Morton only the year before and flipped it to Bullock at a markup. The assessor reset the base year to 2011 on that transfer and later logged new construction.

In June 2014 a man got inside while Bullock was home alone, and she locked herself in a closet through a 15-minute 911 call. Joshua James Corbett pleaded no contest in May 2017 to 2 felonies, including first-degree residential burglary.

Corbett drew 5 years of supervised probation, continued treatment at a mental health facility, and a 10-year restraining order. Bullock said in 2021 that her son was away that night, and “I wasn’t the same after that.”
