The 1985 National Register nomination for Watch Hill logs it as a white clapboard dwelling in a hybrid French Provincial and Moderne style with English Regency touches.

Built around 1931 for the widow of a Philadelphia oil-company executive, who named it Holiday House. The same record notes 4 slab-like brick chimneys and a single barrel-roof dormer over the hip roof.

The 1938 hurricane ate roughly 30 feet off the sand bluff below the terrace, stopping short of its footings. The family packed the gap with quarried boulders that are still down there.

Watch Hill residents bought the place in the 1970s to keep a buyer from leveling it for 3 smaller houses. They resold it under 18 deed covenants, one requiring the house be cut down in size.
