**UPDATED Saturday, November 10, 2018 – 12:20 PM with news of the SoCal wildfires**
TMZ reported that the Malibu fires have reached the property of Kim & Kanye and that their main house is in danger of being engulfed. Soon after, Kim tweeted that the fire had been stopped and their home was safe.
They also reported Caitlyn Jenner’s home was burned down, but that was debunked by HollywoodPipeline.
So, if you’ve ever wondered exactly who lives in Hidden Hills, CA, the answer is pretty much everyone—and their mother (if you’re the Kardashian/Jenners, that is). Although its neighbor, Calabasas, is very well-known, Hidden Hills is probably one of the lesser well-known celebrity hotspots to the average American, however within the city of Los Angeles, pretty much everyone knows it’s prime real estate.
So, since this little gem is chock full of big names, we’ve decided to give you the breakdown on everything you need to know about it for your next LA celebrity home sesh. Enjoy!
Celebrities That Live in Hidden Hills California
Where Is Hidden Hills California on a map?
Hidden Hills is located in Los Angeles County, adjacent to Calabasas and west of the San Fernando Valley. It is an extremely quaint and low-key area with only just about 506 families residing in the area for a total of fewer than 2000 residents. It is home to primarily married couples with the largest age demographic being in the 45 – 65-year-old range.
For those of you who have asked us ‘where is Calabasas California on a map?’ – you can see that it is just south of Hidden Hills, only divided by the 101 Ventura Freeway. Calabasas is also home to a ton of celebs, mainly in the exclusive community called The Oaks.
Is Hidden Hills a Gated Community?
This is more like a gated TOWN because ironically enough, the entire city of Hidden Hills is literally—a gated community. Hence the name. In fact, approximately 95% of it is situated behind a gate. Just one more reason so many celebrities flock to buy up real estate there.
The Dirty Deets
(okay, they’re not really all that dirty…)
If you’ve ever wondered ‘what gated community do the Jenners live in’, you’ve come to the right place. So, where do the Kardashians live in Hidden Hills? Well, not all of them live in the area, but Kris, Kim, Rob, and Kylie do!
Rob was renting one of his sister Kylie’s houses with his ex-wifey Blac Chyna. We’re not sure exactly how that’s going now—but we can say that we’re pretty sure whatever the situation is, we saw it coming from a mile away. Ok, more like miles away.
Where in Hidden Hills Do the Jenners Live?
Kylie Jenner lives on Hidden Ridge Road, while Kris Jenner lives only 1.8 miles away on Eldorado Meadow Road. Kim & Kanye’s home is on Long Valley Road and under construction. Kendall, however, not too long ago purchased a posh mini mansion from actors John Krasinski and Emily Blunt off of Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. Not in Hidden Hills, but now you know! As for the other Jenners…well…does anyone really care?
But if you were thinking the Jenners/Kardashians were the only big names to live in Hidden Hills—think again.
Who Lives in Hidden Hills, CA?
It’s also home to rapper Drake, whose pool, according to Business Insider gives the Playboy Mansion grotto a run for its money. The star purchased the 12,500 square foot mansion for just under $8M from Saddle Ranch owner Larry Pollack and then invested an additional $300,000 on expansions to the home in 2018. His YOLO Estate (yes, he literally calls it that), apparently got quite the buzz, since according to him, the sign that he put outside got stolen not once, not twice, but three times. Maybe because the neighbors in this exclusive community didn’t think his “The YOLO Estate” sign was cute? One thing is for sure, Drake has quickly transformed his Hidden Hills pad into the ultimate party palace, since the home features pretty much every luxury amenity you can imagine, including a mechanical bull, volley ball court, a wet bar, and an 80 foot pool slide.
Rapper French Montana purchased actress/singer Selena Gomez’s Hidden Hills compound for about $3.3M. That came at a loss for Ms. Gomez who listed it over $1M higher than it was purchased for. The home is a gorgeous Mediterranean-style abode with a Viking-style outdoor kitchen outfitted with a brick pizza oven, two-story windows, and caged chandeliers. This is the home where Selena’s stalker was busted for trespassing – hence why she was so eager to sell it. The 7,700 square foot home features 6-bedrooms, a gym, a spa, and a movie theater.
Hannah Montana-turned bad girl-turned back to her roots country girl Miley Cyrus stayed true to her roots by purchasing a 6,000 square foot equestrian-style estate in the neighborhood as well. The 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom abode is also located near one of her all-time favorite places—Malibu. So exactly how far is Malibu from Calabasas? Well, it’s 18.6 miles from each town center and is 30 minutes without traffic and about 50 minutes with traffic. Yes, even these exclusive parts of the city are fraught with awful traffic.
UPDATE: Miley sold this home for $5 million in January 2018!
Lee Ann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are apparently still going strong despite public objections. Yes, some of us may still be a little salty about that (#teamBrandi). Anyways, the disgustingly adorable couple purchased the super gorgeous pad for about $3M back in December of 2012, which was apparently quite the short sale. It was originally listed on the market for about $6M and then marketed for $4.2M right before they got a hold of it for a $3 million discount.
The Spanish-style estate measures just under 9,000 square feet with 8-bedrooms, 6-baths, and lots of outdoor living and entertaining spaces, a pool, a detached guest house—and looks for all intents and purposes just perfect for the cute little family. But still…#teamBrandi.
Another celebrity in love with the neighborhood? Jessica Simpson. She apparently rescued Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne from their “chronic house-selling problem”. The couple listed the gorgeous 12,953 square foot cape cod-style pad at $12.4M and sold it to the singer for $11.5M. The 6-bedroom, 10.5-bathroom home features a swimming pool & spa, a home theater, a recording studio, and a guest cottage.
The Weeknd also recently purchased a 12,000 square foot mansion for $20M where he and Selena Gomez can live it up in full debauchery. Are they even still a thing? Hold on…
Nope, guess the pair decided to call it quits in 2018 and The Weeknd is now officially back on with Bella Hadid. Anyways, the 9-bedroom, 11-bathroom home features an indoor/outdoor bar, a salt water pool, a home theater, a gym, and a 1,200 square foot guest house.
And if that wasn’t enough…the absolute love of our lives – the most beautiful woman alive – the greatest actress of all time – an actual diplomat – Ok, that’s enough…even we’re annoyed now. Angelina Jolie rented Denise Richard’s super loveable Hidden Hills Estate for $30,000/month. The 8,284 square foot pad features 6-bedrooms, 6 full-bathrooms, 2 half-bathrooms, 2 incredible lagoon-style swimming pools, a spa grotto, a pet hotel, and a dining cabana.
This event obviously comes after her extremely publicized breakup with the ever so aesthetically perfect Brad Pitt. I mean seriously—was the man hand carved by Zeus of marble? It’s kind of ridiculous.
But apparently Jolie got tired of renting the Hidden Hills home and in 2017 bought a $25 million classical-style estate in Los Feliz, a trendy neighborhood quite far from Hidden Hills, but just a short drive from the home she shared with Brad. The 6-bedroom, 10-bathroom, 7,500 square foot estate features a gourmet kitchen, a stunning garden and outdoor entertainment space, a tea house, a gym, and a guest house.
Past Hidden Hills residents have included Jennifer Lopez and even the ever so infamous Tupac Shakur, may he rest in peace.
Alas, we could go on and on about all 500-some families that live in the super swank Hidden Hills neighborhood because let’s be honest, it’s kind of ridiculous. It’s pretty much a one-stop shop for celebrity sightseeing if you can manage to Mission Impossible your way into the gates. Although, we do not recommend or condone trespassing. No, seriously. That wasn’t a snarky joke like all the rest. We’re serious. Don’t be weird.
So there you have it! That’s pretty much all you need to know about why this low-key gem is pretty much one of the hottest spots in LA. You’re welks!
